Roger Waters gave his concert at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow on June 30 a little bit of a local flavor while insulting President Donald Trump.

At one point, the words "Trump is a bawbag" were projected across the length of the stage. "Bawbag" is a Scottish slang word for "scrotum" ("ballbag," as filtered through a Scottish accent).

A photo was tweeted out by an attendee, who noted that "the noise nearly brought the roof down." It was picked up by the Irish Post, which noted that "bawbag" found its way onto several signs during an anti-Trump protest in Scotland, where profanity directed at the president has been famously creative. Actor Richard Schiff, who played Toby Ziegler on The West Wing, picked up on the term and created a "#PresidentBawbag" hashtag on Twitter.

Waters has frequently criticized the policies of the Trump administration, in particular its decision to move the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, which many felt hindered the Middle East peace process. The former Pink Floyd leader responded by releasing a video of himself reciting part of Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish's "The Penultimate Speech of the 'Red Indian' to the White Man" under music provided by Le Trio Joubran, a group of oud-playing brothers, and calling it "Supremacy."

As much as Waters has brought politics into his concerts over the years, his guitarist, Jonathan Wilson, said that it hasn't resulted in too much of a hostile reaction from audiences in the U.S. “We were expecting more of a push-back and more of a negative vibe when we were rolling into Kansas City or into Texas or wherever this tour went,” he said earlier this year. “But to be honest, there was [only] a little bit of that. You’d get some people flashing you the bird and screaming and hollering, throwing shit onstage. Like, somebody threw a pretzel at me once. But basically, that wasn’t enough for them to walk out. They had to get their classic rock fix.”
