This week it's not so much rare as historic. On February 9th, 1964 the British Invasion landed on the shores of America as the world's biggest rock and roll act was beamed directly into unsuspecting living rooms across the country, subsequently creating an entire generation of rock and roll addicts.

The Beatles were on The Ed Sullivan Show on three consecutive Sunday nights and each night virtually every teenager and their poo-pooing parents were glued to the glowing images of four shaggy lads from Liverpool. The broadcast had an estimated 73 million viewers, unheard of at that time.
