Nearly seven years after the loss of her father, Stevie Nicks is mourning the death of her mother.

A statement issued late last week confirms that Stevie Nicks' mother Barbara Nicks died after a battle with pneumonia.

Stevie credits her success to her mother. Stevie says her mom, "supported me and all of my dreams. She was the one that made it all possible." Together with Fleetwood Mac and solo, Stevie (whose real name is Stephanie, by the way) has garnered forty hits on the Top 50 charts and has sold 140 million albums to date. Their Rumors album produced four Top 10 hits, including the song "Dreams" which was the groups first and only number one stayed at number one for 31 weeks.

There are no immediate plans for a funeral, but the family is planning a memorial at a later date. Stevie understands that fans may want to send flowers, but is asking instead that fans make a donation in Barbara's name to the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign.

Stevie, her brother Christopher and other family members were at Barbara's side when she passed away at her home near Phoenix, Arizona. She was 84. Her father Jess Nicks died of heart failure in 2005.
