The late, great Stevie Ray Vaughan is being honored with the inaugural induction into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame.

I am a HUGE fan of Austin City Limits. I often choose that over everything else on TV and have been lucky enough to catch some truly great performances. Many times of groups or artists I had never seen live before and wasn't planning on seeing live, until I saw them on ACL.

Stevie Ray Vaughan, a native of Texas is sharing the inaugural induction alongside Texas native Willie Nelson, the creator of Austin City Limits Bill Arhos and the late University of Texas football great Darryl Royal. Why a football guy? Because Darryl was an early supporter of the program and without him on board, ACL may have never taken off.

Willie is expected to attend the ceremony, as will Bill Arhos. Members of Stevie's band, Double Trouble will be there on behalf of Stevie. The ceremony will include a musical tribute from some pretty huge names. Buddy Guy, Emmylou Harris, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd are all expected to perform.

The induction ceremony is set to take place April 26 at the University of Texas at Austin where they originally filmed Austin City Limits. It will be played back as part of a 40 year anniversary show in October.

Austin City Limits airs Saturdays at 11pm on PBS.
