Interestingly, the main focus seems to have shifted from whether AP abused his 4 year-old son, to whether the NFL is acting appropriately. Not surprising I guess. The question of whether or not Adrian Peterson will return to the Minnesota Vikings remains unanswered as the NFL says it will throughly review his case under the league's Player Conduct Policy -- deciding whether further league-imposed fines or suspensions will be handed out.

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has pled no contest to misdemeanor reckless assault in a Texas court this afternoon, for whipping his 4-year old son earlier this year. Peterson had been facing felony charges, but will now spend no time in jail, pay a $4000 fine, perform community service, and remain on probation for two years.

A plea agreement between Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson and Montgomery County Texas prosecutors, reducing the charges against the NFL star to a misdemeanor could come as early as today. That would essentially end the legal case against Peterson, but it remains unclear if the league would take further action.
