The Minnesota Vikings are going to be honoring a former coach during the entire upcoming NFL season. Bud Grant, the coach that brought the Vikings to 4 Super Bowls, passed away in March. The team plans to honor Bud's legacy at least in these two different ways this year, a patch and a helmet decal.

A tribute to Bud.
The #Vikings will honor Bud Grant's legacy with a jersey patch Week 1. Players will wear a helmet decal the remainder of the season.

The Minnesota Vikings posted the above video earlier this week, showing the patch that will be worn on the opening weekend, and then after the patch, it was sounding like the team was going to have a small helmet decal that will be displayed for the remainder of the season.

In addition to the patch and helmet decal, I'm sure the Vikings will take a moment either in their first game of the season or at some other point to remember the legacy that Coach Grant left behind.

Stop and think about the numbers I am about to show you, regarding a man who lived and breathed the outdoors and being active. "Grant was head coach of the Vikings for 18 seasons; he was the team's second (1967–83) and fourth (1985) head coach, leading them to four Super Bowl appearances, 11 division titles, one league championship, and three National Football Conference championships. Before coaching the Vikings, he was the head coach of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for ten seasons, winning the Grey Cup four times."

On top of the football accolades Grant won a NBA championship with the Minneapolis Lakers in 1950!

Plus who could forget this moment that we got to see in more recent VIkings history?

It's no wonder why Vikings fans loved Coach Grant as much as they did. He won both on and off the field, and the team will honor his legacy this season.
