Big news for putter fans: the Professional Golfers' Association will make annual trips to Minnesota beginning next year.

Specifically, the events will be the 3M Open(s) and be played at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine.

Next year's 3M Open will mark the first official PGA event in Minnesota in ten years. The last official PGA event saw Y.E. Yang score a thrilling come-from-behind victory over Tiger Woods at Chaska's Hazeltine National Golf Club.

The 3M Open will be played for seven years, per the contract just signed with the PGA.

It's a big deal because it brings yet another major sporting event to Minnesota.

The TPC Twin Cities has been hosting the Champions Tour (seniors tour) since 2001. With the PGA sending their regular roster to for the foreseeable future, that'll bring an end to the annual 3M Championship.
