The Minnesota Twins scored early to take a 6-2 lead this afternoon, but let the Tigers comeback to tie the game in the sixth. Not willing to give up, the Twins scored one more in the eighth, and Glen Perkins shut Detroit down in the ninth to seal the 7-6 Twins win.

Ryan Doumit's three-run homer off Justin Verlander broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth inning, but the Tigers rallied for four runs with two outs in the sixth.

With the win, the Twins took two of three from the first place Tigers, and now head to Cleveland for a three game weekend series that starts tomorrow night against the Indians.
