At least one member of U2 will be on hand to collect yet another award for their trophy case. This time it's an award from the Palm Springs Film Festival.

The Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala is coming up on Sunday and U2 front man Bono has confirmed that he will be in attendance to accept the Sonny Bono Visionary Award for the band's humanitarian efforts around the world.

Film Festival Chairman Harold Matzner said that U2 was chosen for this year's award because of their "unparalleled humanitarian work against extreme poverty, disease, and social injustice." They also worked extensively to fight AIDS in Africa with the late Nelson Mandela and their song, Ordinary Love can be heard in the new film Mandella: Long Walk to Freedom.
