I think it goes without saying that one of the great pleasures of being alive is eating food. There’s nothing quite like pigging out on your dish of choice, watching some television and taking a nap. Eating more food than you can handle is a big part of our cozy, western lifestyle, and I love every minute of it.

There are lots of foods that I enjoy gorging myself on: tacos, sushi, pizza, chicken wings, you name it. One of my all time favorite foods chili. Spicy chilli to be exact. Most people I know are in the same boat. It’s hard not to love a fresh, warm bowl of it on a cold winter day. It’s definitely a comfort food for me.

One of my favorite American pastimes is the chili cook-off. It seems like every company or public organization will hold at least one chili contest in its lifetime, and who can blame them? It’s a great excuse to get together with people and pig out.

Well dear reader, the next big Minnesotan chili contest is The Chili Feed Cook-Off at the First pres. Church (535 20th Ave. North) in Saint Paul on March 17th. The cook-off will include: silent progressive auction, cribbage tournament, raffle tickets, a live speaker, and of course the chili contest. Admission is only $5 at the door. Sounds like a pretty good time to me. I’m starving just thinking about it.
