WRIGHT COUNTY - According to his relatives, the body found in the Mississippi River Thursday morning is that of a missing Monticello man.

The body was found Thursday at 11:30 a.m. by volunteers who were helping in the search for 23-year-old Joseph Brunn, who went missing from the area since early Saturday morning. He was last seen at about 2:00 a.m. on Saturday walking from the Boondox Bar to the Holiday Inn in Otesgo.

The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office has not officially identified the body, but Brunn's family confirmed the discovery at an afternoon news conference in Otsego. They thanked everyone in the area for their help and support in the search.

According to the Help find Joe Brunn Facebook Page, over 4,000 volunteers were taking part in the search effort. ATVs and horses were being used by groups to look for Brunn.

A candlelight vigil will be held Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in Otsego.

The circumstances surrounding the death of the individual is under investigation by the Wright County Sheriff's Office.
