232 Cited Going Over 100 MPH In MN Since April 1st

I must admit that I have a bit of a led foot on the highway. I may go 10-15 miles an hour over the limit. Speed limit is just a suggestion, right?  Well, not according to the Minnesota State Patrol.  They say there has been a real uptick in speeding since the beginning of the pandemic.

Minnesota State Patrol posted this on Facebook on Tuesday;

Troopers cited 232 drivers for going more than 100 mph on Minnesota roads between April 1 and May 21. That compares with 93 during the same time last year -- a 149 percent increase.

So, if the top speed limit in Minnesota is 70 MPH, these drivers were going at least 30 miles an hour over the limit. That's hauling some butt.

This is happening all over the state according to the patrol, not just Minnesota's larger metro areas.

The Minnesota State Patrol asks drivers to please slow down for their own safety and the safety of others.

Funny side note, earlier this month a driver was pulled over twice for speeding in the same day and it was in two different states, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Both times the driver was doing more than 100 MPH.
