3 Underrated Things People Miss Out On When Visiting Minnesota
Ever have friends or family that live in another state and they ask you what you do for fun here in 'boring' old Minnesota? I mean you could give them the brush off with the standard Mall of America, or ice fishing, etc. But seriously, if you were supposed to give a visitor to Minnesota a tip, or something they should experience, that the 'residents' here get to do all the time, what would that be? Here are my 3 underrated things you can do here in the #BoldNorth.
1. Take your visitor to a meat raffle. Seriously. If they aren't from the Midwest they will be very confused by the name, and then when you get to the bar/VFW and you start playing you'll have to explain how it all works. But it might be the most fun you can have with a visitor for $20.
2. Rustic Inn Cafe! Head up Highway 61 with your visitor and show them our 'ocean' (Lake Superior), and then stop for some pie, but don't stop just any place for a piece of pie, you've got to stop at this 'hidden gem' of a cafe. Several people online have picked the Rustic Inn Cafe off Highway 61 as an 'underrated' stop, as compared to the other North Shore favorite, Betty's Pies.

3. Take them to one of the many FREE museums or attractions around the Twin Cities like the Como Conservatory. Inside, no matter how cold it is outside, is a tropical adventure with tons of bright-colored flowers and plants that brighten up even the most gray winter days we experience, and your visitor might be surprised as to just how big the conservatory is.
What underrated thing/experience would you recommend to a friend or family member visiting Minnesota?
