It may not be a bundle of cash but every little bit helps, right?  This settlement from Apple stems from a class action lawsuit after Apple got called out on a shady deed.

If you've ever owned an iPhone, you know it tends to slow down after a few years and you figure it's time to upgrade. In 2017 Apple actually fessed up that it was totally on purpose.

Apple claims they did the slowdown thing to help extend battery life and not to force you to upgrade.

I don't think anyone bought into that scenario and Apple ended up settling the class action lawsuit to the tune of 500 million dollars.  That ends up being about $25 for every iPhone they put the slowdown on.

If you think you may have been one of the many iPhone users at the time, check your records. If you owned an iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, or SE and even an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus you may be entitled to your share of the half billion dollar settlement.

What you will need is the phone's serial number. Where you can find this, I don't know.  Maybe your cell phone dealer has it on file. Anyway, when you find the serial number, go to and claim your $25.

I realize it's not a windfall of cash, but wouldn't it be nice to have Apple give you some money for a change?
