If you are someone who goes to Costco either once a week or once a month, or you don't want to go at all because it's too busy, maybe this will help allieve some of the busy-ness that happens here at the St. Cloud location.

THIS OPENING WILL ADD ONE MORE LOCATION TO THE AREA'S OTHER TWO

The other two Costcos currently, that are close to St. Cloud are either the Baxter locaton or the location in Maple Grove.  When the St. Cloud store opened, the employees at the Maple Grove location told me that they were hoping that will lessen the amount of people who came into that location.  Spoiler alert - that did not happen.

NEW LOCATION IS STILL EXPECTED TO BE THIS UPCOMING FALL

But maybe that will be different once the newest location in Otsego opens.  Ground was broken on this site last year, and as of the end of April, the opening of this store is still expected to be this Fall - Fall of 2026.

From Hometown Source:

The store is planned near Mackenzie Avenue NE and 60th Street NE, near Emma’s Express and Just for Kix Dance School, with development timelines coordinated alongside the Costco project. A recent update from the City of Otsego indicates the project remains on track for a fall 2026 opening.

SLIGHTLY SMALLER THAN ST. CLOUD'S LOCATION

The warehouse is expected to be about 160,000 square feet.  That is sligtly smaller than the Costco in St. Cloud.  The new Otsego store will also include a members only fuel station - totally worth it as it is generally about 20 cents less than at the regular gas stations.  The Costco gas station in Otsego is expected to open about a month before the warehouse opening.

DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU LIVE - THIS ONE MIGHT BE MORE CONVENIENT

If you live inbetween St. Cloud and Albertville, this location might be an easier route for you to take when going to your favorite Costco store.
