Accuracy VS Friendliness – Some DQs Using AI in the Drive Thru
There is so much AI around now. Sometimes when it's something online I just assume it's AI. That's how jaded by this stuff I have become. It's so weird. It's like stuff out of the movie Total Recall or something. But here we are. It's taking over.

FAST FOOD RESTAURANT TRYING OUT AI IN THE DRIVE THRU
Now, there are several DQ restaurants that are starting to use AI for the voice taking your order in the drive-thru. There has been, which I'm sure you can imagine, mixed reviews on this new addition.
THIS ISN'T EVERYWHERE -YET BUT COULD BE COMING HERE SOON
I will admit that sometimes it is helpful. And it probably makes things a little more efficient in some cases, but this drive through deal has people (some people) saying that while it is probably more accurant and efficient, it's a lot less friendly. There are no extra chit chat or anything personal. Although, that is sometimes why the drive-thru lines can get backed up. So, I guess how you are going to perceive this is based on what kind of interaction you desire.
From FOX News:
The popular fast-food chain is expanding its use of AI at its drive-thru locations, with plans to bring the feature to select franchises across the U.S. using voice technology from Presto, the company said in a news release. The partnership will allow customers to place orders through an automated voice assistant rather than a human employee.
WOULD YOU MISS THE PERSONAL INTERACTION WHEN PLACING YOUR ORDER
What would you think if you pulled up to a drive thru and it wasn't a real person interacting with you. It was an AI voice taking your order. Would you be put off? Or would you appreciate the efficiency?
