ST. CLOUD -- A St. Cloud woman faces DWI and driving after revocation charges after calling police to report an assault that never happened.

St. Cloud police were called to 1607 West St. Germain Street just after 3:30 a.m. Wednesday on a report of a possible assault.

An officer spoke with 28-year-old Kristine Hadammek who allegedly had poor balance and slurred speech. She told police she had an argument with her husband at a Sauk Rapids bar and that he left with the vehicle. Hadammek said she eventually walked to the Sauk Rapids Bridge where her husband had left the vehicle and drove it home.

During the investigation, the officer learned an assault hadn't happened, but rather Hadammek had fallen while walking and injured her eye.

Court records show a breath test at the scene showed Hadammek's blood alcohol level 0.208, more than twice the legal limit to drive.

Hadammek has a previous DWI conviction from June and her driver's license is still revoked as part of that conviction. She is now charged with 3rd degree DWI, 2nd degree DWI and driving after revocation.
