SAUK RAPIDS - Hundreds of people made their way to the Benton County Fair for the annual free corn feed.

The corn feed is provided by the Benton-Sherburne County Corn Growers. While most people were enticed by the free food, a few lucky youth were brought to receive their $2,500.00 scholarship from the Corn Growers.

Sean Arnold is the President of the Benton-Sherburne County Corn Growers.  He and other board members say the event and the scholarships are meant to help promote agricultural careers.

"We are promoting agriculture in the youth with this scholarship."

The large bins of corn were provided by a local farmer from Kimball. Arnold says they served a lot of Corn.

"A thousand ears of corn is what were doing."

The Benton-Sherburne County Corn Growers use their upcoming golf tournament to raise money for the yearly scholarship they award.
