Free Event in St. Cloud Offers Food and Food for the Soul
For many people, the struggle is real. They’re trying to pay their bills and feed their family which has become harder and harder. I heard something this week which quoted a survey which asked people how they planned to spend their tax refund.

Of this study from Taxslayer.com which talked to over 2,000 people, only 8% of people actually planned to spend their refund on something considered a luxury item.
Most people will be spending their refunds on the basic necessities of life. That would be food, monthly bills, and medicine among other things.
That’s why events like what is coming up next Saturday are so important. Hope Covenant Church in St. Cloud will be holding a free chili lunch and food giveaway.
This time of year, a nice bowl of chili will hit the spot. The chili will be free, it’s a part of the church’s annual chili cookoff which will be held in the sanctuary.
The food giveaway will include whole turkeys, sliced bread, peanut butter, fresh fruits, vegetables and more. Tri-Cap representatives will also be on hand as well to talk about the services they offer and how they could potentially your family.
This is a real opportunity to get a helping hand in what can be a very difficult time. The church is also going to be offering a different kind of assistance as well.
They will be accepting prayer requests and lifting those concerns up to God. Everyone encounters tough times and needs someone to give them a chance to get back on their feet. During what is likely to still be some really cold days ahead, a meal, some food to take home and good fellowship could be just what some folks need until they can get into a better place themselves.
The event is Saturday February 15th from 11am-1pm at Hope Covenant Church on 4th Ave. South in St. Cloud.
