The Minnesota Vikings are playing some really good football late in the regular season, so stop me if you've heard this one before, but the Vikings are VERY close to clinching a spot in the 2024 NFL Playoffs. Here's how the purple and gold can make the playoffs this weekend.

Coming into the weekend the VIkings are 11 and 2, trailing the division-leading Detroit Lions by a game, and they are staying ahead of the Green Bay Packers by two games. While the Vikings making the playoffs are a likely scenario, nothing is a given, but here are the different ways the Vikings could make the 2024 playoffs by the end of the football 'weekend'.

The most straightforward way the Vikings get into the playoffs is by controlling their own destiny and winning against the Bears on Monday night. With that win, the Vikings are in the 2024 NFL Playoffs. (The purple could also get into the playoffs with a tie, but no one wants that)

Another way the Vikings can get in is with the LA Rams losing or tying this weekend, or the Seattle Seahawks losing or tying Sunday.

At the start of this season there wasn't a lot of hype surrounding the team. There was uncertainty about how the team would perform with changes coming to the offense, and a possible rookie starting at some point. Sam Darnold, who was going to hold the torch for JJ McCarthy, until the newly drafted rookie from Michigan was ready.
