Anyone familiar with St. Paul, or has seen pictures depicting things that are iconic in Minnesota, one place that generally comes up in Mickeys Diner.  During this pandemic, there  have been shutdowns of the bars and restaurants.  Well, there was a shutdown of almost everything for a time, but nothing has been hit harder than the bars and restaurants in Minnesota.  All over the country really, but not every state has had the shutdowns of bars and restaurants like Minnesota has.

Because of this, we all know that not every business is going to make it out ready to continue on as though nothing has happened.  This is a very tough year.

A GoFundMe page has been created for Mikey's Diner in downtown St. Paul.  Right now they are closed like all of the other bars and restaurants in Minnesota.  But people want to make sure that this is one of the restaurants that will be able to make it through this very financially crippling time.  As of earlier this week, the page had a goal of $50,000 and has made just over $4,000 of that goal.

Earlier this month, Mickey’s Diner announced on its Facebook page that it would close for all service, including take-out, ahead of what will be an unpredictable season without typical downtown holiday attractions.

A case could be made that there should be a fundraising page for all small businesses that have been negatively affected by the lock downs.   But it just takes someone to do it.  In this case, the page is for an iconic diner and landmark, really of downtown St. Paul, Minnesota.  All we can do is support those businesses and get some take-out and hope that the lockdown ends earlier than what is set for now.  January 11th.   And let's hope it doesn't go further than that.
