IRS Moves Tax Filing Date To July 15th
Dreaded by most, that day we have to have our taxes filed without penalty, April 15th. Well, we now have a little buffer. It has been announced that we get an extra 3 months to get our taxes done. We now have until July 15th to file without interest and penalties.
This was announced by Treasury Secretary, Steve MNuchin and is the most recent in a string of emergency measures being announced in an effort deal with the financial fallout from the coronavirus pandemic.
Mnuchin said this will give individual taxpayers and businesses a cushion of time on their taxes without being penalized. Good news! Hopefully, Minnesota will follow suit on state taxes.
