Minnesota's getting close to banning hand held cell phones while operating a motor vehicle. 16 other states already have a "Hands Free" law. It's not a done deal yet but both the House and Senate have passed drafts of the bill.

The House and Senate bills differ slightly. The Senate version that passed Would allow women wearing a hijab, a headscarf worn by many Muslim women, to tuck the phone in their hijab.

This just doesn't seem to be "hands free".  A person tucking the cell phone in a hijab would still have to use their hands to make and answer calls. There is always the chance a phone could slip out of the headscarf causing a distraction and possible accident.

I am in no way attacking the wearing of the headscarf itself. It just doesn't seem like it should be considered "hands free", for safety's sake.
