Buying Concert Tickets – What Do The Different Colors Mean?
This is one thing that I think we can all get behind, concerts are really fun to go to. It's great to see the people you listen to in person and enjoy the atmosphere. Also - lately you never know if there is going to be some sort of freak accident, or if they may pass away from natural causes before you get a chance to see them. Not trying to be morbid, but the point is, if you want to see an artist, and they are touring, GO SEE THEM!
Here's the issue.
Tickets seem to be getting more and more expensive. Shows are being cancelled here and there and claiming low ticket sales, bad potential weather (Steve Miller Band) or a whole other plethora of reasons why people can't go to a show. But let's be honest, you can't go to everything. It's just too expensive. So, you need to kind of pick and choose the ones that are the most important to you, or the ones where you know you won't get another chance to see them...probably.
Enter Paul McCartney and his "Got Back" tour.
I have heard from quite a few people about how expensive those tickets are. The show is at US Bank Stadium, and you got to kind of expect that it's going to be a bit pricey, but they shouldn't be priced so high that a regular joe can't afford to go and see the show.

PRICE GOUGING
People were saying that the tickets were like $600-$700 bucks for nose bleed seats. I had to see for myself.
I logged on to Ticketmaster - you HAVE to make sure it's Ticketmaster and not some third party site. Those sites are astronomically more expensive than a regular ticket through the site. BUT, there is a catch with that too.
When I was looking at the ticket prices, I saw that they range from $134 to several hundred or thousands if you want the VIP Experience. The $134 was up in the "nosebleed" seats. But they weren't $6 or $7 hundred dollars. Until you look at the "verified resale" prices. Those were definitely up in that higher range of price.
WATCH THE COLORS
If you don't notice that it says that by the seats you are looking at, look at the seating chart. There are blue spots and red spots. Those are ALL available seats. The blue ones are regular Ticketmaster prices. The red ones are all verified resale and much more expensive than the regular tickets are. It's scalping. And it's wrong (in my opinion). It should be illegal in Minnesota, but it isn't. That was repealed in 2007.
The price gouging happens to almost every show. That's why it is very important to make sure you are not buying from a third party site, even within Ticketmaster. Just be vigilant and make sure you aren't paying too much to see the artists you want to see.
