This is pretty cool. A made in Minnesota movie "3 Day Weekend" is on my watch list, for sure. It's great to see local film makers get their stuff shown to the world. I guess, you don't have to be a big Hollywood mogul to make it in showbiz.

"3 Day Weekend" was shot in Park Rapids in only 17 days. It made it's debut last night on Showtime On Demand and tomorrow you can catch it on YouTubeVimeo.  Amazon Prime will start showing it starting this Tuesday.

Husband and wife, Wyatt McDill and Megan Huber of Park Rapids did it all.  They wrote, directed and produced the entire film. They describe their film as "a puzzle film, like Memento crossed with Cop Car".

Starring in "3 Day Weekend' are Morgan Kranz from "In the Dark", Maya Stojan from "Agents of Shield", Nathan Phillips who appeared in "Snakes on a Plane" and Scott McDonald from "Jarhead".  "3 Day Weekend" was filmed in Park Rapids using an all Minnesota crew.

McDill and Huber, who spend their time in both Minnesota and Los Angeles, operate their own film company called Sleeper Cell.

McDill and Huber also have another film which happens to be a comedy titled "Hollywood Fringe".  It will be shown at this year's Twin Cities Film Fest which kicks off October 22nd.

I wish them all the success in the world and hope to see them collect an Oscar or two in the future.
