Michael Shynes Brings His Heartfelt Music To The Paramount
I’ve been lucky enough to call Michael Shynes a friend for the past several years.
If you’ve spent any time around him, you already know this isn’t just another “album release show.” This is a moment. A gathering. A reminder of why live music still matters, especially in the places that shape us.
THE FULL BAND ALBUM RELEASE BY MICHAEL SHYNES & FRIENDS
On Saturday, January 17th at 7:30 p.m., Michael is bringing his 'Annual Full Band Album Release' to the Paramount Center for the Arts, and it feels like the kind of night that sticks with you long after the lights come up.
He’ll be backed by his full seven-piece, Minneapolis-based band, supported by a top-notch audio and lighting crew, and a very special violinist by the name of DGS, who is nothing short of brilliant in his unique playing ability and sound.

SONGS, STORIES & CONNECTIONS - 'SMALL TOWN REVIVAL'
This isn’t about spectacle for spectacle’s sake. It’s about songs, stories, and connection.
Michael will be performing fan favorites alongside brand new music, including songs from his newly released album 'Small Town Revival.'

TWENTY FOUR SONGS DIRECTLY FROM MICHAEL'S HEART TO YOURS
True to himself, the album isn’t polished for trends or algorithms. It’s honest. He even jokes that releasing a full record right now feels like being a newspaper salesman a decade ago. But he keeps writing anyway. Originals, a couple of covers, acoustic moments, and one song in particular, entitled 'If I Were a Rich Man,' that he says best captures where he is right now.
CHASING MEANING AND CONNECTION OVER FAME AND FORTUNE
That honesty is why people connect to Michael. He isn’t chasing fame. Michael is chasing meaning. He’s making music for kind, hardworking people. 'Good parents, good neighbors, the folks who show up and do the work every day.' You'll feel that from his lyrics, right down to pricing the album at five dollars on Bandcamp to putting every penny back into making the next record.
SPECIAL GUESTS COMING TO THE PARAMOUNT
Saturday’s show will also feature Ms. Melinda’s Dance Studio, bringing movement and visual storytelling into the mix, and opening the night is none other than Chris Kroeze, runner-up from The Voice Season 15, whose raw talent and grit are a perfect fit for this one of a kind show.
What I love most about this show is that it feels like a celebration of community. A small-town revival in the truest sense. Not flashy. Not forced. Just people coming together in a beautiful room to hear songs that mean something, played by musicians who care deeply about what they’re putting into the world.
If you’ve ever needed a reminder that live music still has soul, that songwriting still matters, and that supporting artists directly can make a real difference, this is your night.
A message from Michael:
"I am asking for $5 for the record and it is available exclusively on Bandcamp. I already have a garage full of merch and don’t need to add more at the present time, so unfortunately there will be no physical record for now. With the low payout rate of streaming services I have decided to keep releasing singles there and not full records as many songs get lost due to their model.
That being said, I use streaming services and assume most of you do too. It’s all love. If you want to have some fun with this, you can pay me in streams on Venmo. Every 5 dollars is 1250 streams. So you can write that in the description. All the money I make from this record will go back into costs for the next record. My Venmo is @michaelshynes.
I love you all, I hope you enjoy Small Time Revival. My current musical dream is so very simple. I want to make music for kind, hard working people. Those of you out there busting your tail, being good parents, and good neighbors. You are my heroes. Keep that !X&t up!'
