It's very difficult for me to understand how children in the richest country in the world, has kids without enough to eat every day.  These kids often have a difficult time learning in school because of a lack of general nutrition.

Feeding Area Children Together aka FACT take on the task of making sure all kids get the nutrition they need to learn in school and be as healthy as they can be.

They attempt to do this through FACT packs sent home from school with children experiencing  hunger. These foods are pre-portioned, easy to prepare and meet nutritional requirements for growing children.

This is so important because;

1 in 5 Central Minnesota children live in poverty.

34% of families who experience hunger are not eligible for federal nutrition programs.

Over 90% of children at 3 area elementary schools qualify for food and reduced priced lunch. (FRPL)

The average FRPL rate in Minnesota is 30%

The 2019-2020 school calendar has 100 days that students are not in school (weekends & breaks)

If you have time to volunteer and help with the fight against child hunger, here in St Cloud, check out the website for volunteer opportunities https://www.stcloudfact.org/volunteeropportunities

This is a great cause and everyone should be concerned about children going hungry. Please help if you can, no kid would ever go hungry.
