One Stimulus Payment Enough? Petition Started For 2nd Payment
Stephanie Bonin and her husband own a restaurant in Denver and are struggling in the midst of the pandemic shutdown. Stephanie says the last few months have been "catastrophic for working families like mine" and wants the government to take action sooner than later.
She says "We need immediate checks and recurring payments so that we can keep our heads above water. Congress needs to make sure that we won’t be left financially ruined for doing our part to keep the country healthy".
Stephanie started a petition at change.org petition. and over a million people have already signed it. She asks congress to help support working families with a $2000 payment for adults and $1000 for kids and keep the checks coming until this crisis is over.
It has yet to be approved but congress is working on pretty much what Stephanie is asking for to those making less than $120,000 a year. Congress is also asking that the $600 addition to unemployment checks continues until at least the end of the year.
If you're like me, you haven't received your stimulus money yet. I read online this morning that the remaining 20 million people that have not received their stimulus money yet, should get their check this week or early June.
To keep the economy moving, people have to have money to spend. This pandemic has put a big financial hurt on most people. Next time around, if there is one, let's leave out the big corporations. If we have money to spend, they should be alright.
