We know that we have had some very warm-ish temperatures for the last week or so here in Minnesota.  And right before that for a couple of weeks it was completely frigid.  Many nights, and sometimes days where it was way below zero.  Definitely cold enough to make some fairly thick ice.

One would think that the ice would hold up even with the warmer temps that we had for the last week.

That was not the case for someone with what looks like a very nice fish house on Lake Sarah in Rockford, Minnesota.  The whole fish house fell through the ice.  And even though you can only see the top of the ice house, you can still tell that it was one of those very nice fish houses.

According to KARE 11, no one was in the ice house when it fell through the ice, which is lucky.

Authorities are investigating after an ice fishing house fell through the ice Saturday morning on Lake Sarah in Rockford.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office reported that nobody was in the house when it fell through the lake. Officials pulled everyone off the lake Saturday morning for safety.

The owner will have 30 days to get the house out of the lake.  After that there may be some fairly hefty fines added.

The deadline for removal of fish houses from the lowere two thirds of the state is today.  And the upper third deadline in in two weeks, by the 17th of the month
