Popular Grocery Store Chain Not Adding Stores In Minnesota
When it comes to grocery shopping, there are many folks from Central Minnesota that would like to have a Trader Joe’s closer to where they live.

There are 10 locations of the grocery chain in the state, with the locations in Maple Grove and Minnetonka being the closest to the St. Cloud Metro Area.
It’s not a hard drive to either location, but it’s also not a drive you can’t make for the everyday items unless you’re already going to be in those areas.
I saw a headline yesterday from msn.com that caught my eye which was Trader Joe’s share's new locations. As I said earlier, I know several people who shop at the Maple Grove or Minnetonka location on a semi-regular basis and would enjoy having one closer.
Unfortunately, that’s not going to be the case. Trader Joe’s officials say they are expanding by adding three new locations in California, New Orleans, New Jersey, New York, Boston, Colorado, South Carolina, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and Oklahoma City.
The three new stores in California will join the 205 stores that are already there, which is the most of any state. New York’s newest store will be the 36th in that state, while the location in New Jersey will be the 20th. Each state that is getting a new location already has multiple stores around their state.
There is no timeline listed for these new stores, but they do say the additions will come in this calendar year.
Their philosophy seems to be placing stores in high population areas, so they cast a net that hits the most people. A google search of the population of the St. Cloud Metro Area says that there are over 201,000 in the area. Maybe that will be enough to get ole’ Joe’s attention in the future.
