ACTION! The City of St. Joesph will be in the spotlight a little later this year, as a film crew will hit the streets to show the world just how great it is to live in a rural setting versus in a high-density area like the Twin Cities. Former Twin Cities media personality Cory Hepola hosts the video series, and they just announced the cities that will be featured across the Midwest! Here's what we know about the series!

Yesterday Cory and the show, My Town announced what cities would be in the spotlight, and Minnesota has more than St. Joesph being featured.

For Immediate Release:

"MY TOWN TO FEATURE 8 RURAL COMMUNITIES IN SEASON 2"

“Young people are CHOOSING to live in rural communities at higher rates than we’ve seen since the 1970’s and ‘My Town’ is showing the world the many reasons why,” said Cory Hepola, Director and Host. “There’s opportunity, innovation, and a connectedness in rural America and the overwhelmingly positive response to our Season 1 communities has shown there’s a large audience excited to experience it.”
8 TOWNS 5 STATES

Fairmont, Minnesota

St. Joseph, Minnesota

Rock Valley, Iowa

Linton, North Dakota

Watford City, North Dakota

Grand Island, Nebraska

Chamberlain-Oacoma, South Dakota

Watertown, South Dakota

The show is on its second season and when I heard about a documentary coming to Central Minnesota a few weeks ago at a City Council meeting in St. Augusta, I scratched my head wondering what and where they would be filming. It turns out Fairmont and St. Joesph were the picks.

Last year the series covered places in Minnesota like Willmar, Perham, and Chisolm.

The release didn't state when filming would begin, but if I had to guess I'd think this spring and summer as that's when Central Minnesota and all of us seem to be at our busiest and best.
