Rock Talk With Drew Darkwell #23 – Dee Snider
It’s hard to talk about the 80s glam rock movement without mentioning a few names – David Lee Roth, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Perry, and Joe Elliot, just to name a few. One of the people that falls into the category of rockers that you can’t leave out of this conversation is Dee Snider, of Twisted Sister fame.
To be honest, I’m not the biggest Twisted Sister fan. They weren’t nearly as innovative as some of their peers (Van Halen, Rush, Frank Zappa, etc) but you have to hand it to the guys – between the catchy arena rock anthems and infamous costumes they definitely turned themselves into rock-n-roll legends.
They always struck me as a goofy, flamboyant version of Kiss. The band disbanded in 2016, but Snider has managed to keep himself busy post Twisted Sister. Check out this episode of Rock Talk to see what he’s been up to lately.
