Rock Talk With Drew Darkwell #24 – Lynyrd Skynyrd

I’m going to be completely honest with you – I don’t like Lynyrd Skynyrd. Maybe it’s because I was born in the south and southern rock and country were forced onto me as a child, or maybe it’s just because their music isn’t gritty or aggressive enough for my personal taste.

Whatever the reason is, it’s just never been my cup of tea, and I say that as an ENORMOUS classic rock fan. But hey, I have no disrespect toward the guys in Skynyrd. They’re perfectly fine musicians and they certainly know how to craft hit songs, so I’m more than willing to give respect where respect is due.

I do happen to know quite a few people who love this band and rank them as one of the all time great rock bands. If you’re one of these people, you’ll definitely be interested in seeing what the band is planning in this episode of Rock Talk.
