Rock Talk With Drew Darkwell #26 – Billy Gibbons
There are very few people in the history of rock music that have been as influential as Billy Gibbons. The bearded guitar demigod has one of the most distinguishable singing voices and writing styles in rock-n-roll.
He’s right up there with Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton as far as I’m concerned. “Legs” and “Cheap Sunglasses” are personal favorites. This guy has been in the music game for a long time – even longer than he’s been growing his beard out (which, needless to say, has been quite some time.)
Of course, he is best known for making up a third of southern garage rock band ZZ Top, but he’s been involved in several other projects over the years as well. He certainly doesn’t show signs of slowing down anytime in the foreseeable future. Check out this episode of Rock Talk to see what he’s been up to lately, and what his upcoming plans are.
