St. Cloud Restaurant Not Selling Gift Cards Over Fear of January Closure
We have been hearing over and over again how we need to support local businesses, but seeing posts like this online really solidifies the need to support our neighbors.
The owner of Ko-Z's Eats and Sweets in Waite Park posted on Facebook Friday, December 4th saying:
I am so thankful for my customers and how wonderful everyone has been during this difficult year. However, we cannot keep our heads above water much longer. I won't be selling gift cards for Christmad this year due to the fact that we will probably be closing in January. I love you all, but the time has come to make this devistating decision. I really hope that things will turn around soon..but it does look pretty bad for us! LOVE you all and have a very merry Christmas and a happy year!
Absolutely heartbreaking, and you know they aren't the only business living with that fear right now.
The comments of the post were filled with a lot of love and understanding around the situation the restaurant finds itself in. The owner followed them up with a comment saying:
Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart! We will continue to struggle as long as possible! Never in my life have I ever thought that this would be the outcome. We will continue to stay alive as long as we can!!! Thank you all for being such loyal customers!
These local establishments are owned and ran by our friends and neighbors and they need our support now more than ever. Order from them if you can, get delivery or pickup, share their social media posts, and send good thoughts their way. 2020 has been a very difficult year and we need to lean on each other for support.
