Stevie Ray Vaughan Left Us 28 Years Ago Today (video)

It was 28 years ago today that we lost the great Stevie Ray Vaughan in a helicopter crash in Wisconsin at the young age of 35.

I was fortunate enough to meet Stevie on a few different occasions. Totally, a super nice down to earth guy. Took time to talk with us and pose for pictures.

Stevie had his rough years. I remember going to a back stage after party when Stevie was in his hard drinking phase. It was a wild party backstage and it never occurred to me that he was in a downward spiral at the time.

Next time I went to see Stevie in concert, it was all fruit bowls and bottled water. I have to admit I was slightly disappointed but happy that he was on the mend.

Stevie Ray Vaughan was one of those few artists that sounded great on CD but sounded unbelievably good live.

He is missed and will always be one of the best ever.
