This weekend features a wide variety of music as the Fabulous Armadillos wrap up their Guilty Pleasures show at Pioneer Place, classic rockers Blue Oyster Cult and Jefferson Starship perform at the Medina Entertainment Center, and Smash Mouth and Uncle Kracker visit Mystic Lake. Along with the music, stage performances include the unique dance performances of TU Dance at St. Ben's and GREAT Theatre's The Diary of Anne Frank debuts at the Paramount Theatre. Blue Oyster Cult released their second live album, the aptly named ‘Some Enchanted Evening,’ in September 1978 and proceeded to rack up the biggest record sales of their storied career. Not bad for a band that had spent much of their career to that point intentionally cloaking themselves in mystery while challenging listeners with oftentimes obscure or downright controversial lyrics.

Blue Oyster Cult Founder Allen Lanier Dead at 67
Founding Blue Oyster Cult keyboardist and guitarist Allen Lanier has died at the age of 67 after being hospitalized with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, according to the band's official Facebook page. "DFTR sweet man," the post reads, in apparent reference to their hit 'Don't Fear the Reaper.' "We love you and miss you."
