Syd Barrett

Roger Keith "Syd" Barrett was the driving force behind Pink Floyd's debut album, 'The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn' but as a solo artist he recorded more albums than he did as Floyd's lead guitarist, lead vocalist and primary songwriter.

The 'Peel Sessions' was actually recorded soon after 'The Madcap Laughs' in 1970. These sessions were performances to air on BBC's, 'Top Gear Show' hosted by John Peel.

The birth of 'Opel' was because this album included eight songs that were recorded for , but were never included on the first two albums, 'The Madcap Laughs' and 'Barrett'. 'Opel' also includes six alternate takes.

There's not a lot of anything this month that will jump out as 'major', however; with that being said I am going to take you down a journey through the classic rock backwater's and we are going to pan for some rare gems.

The story of Syd Barrett is no doubt a sad one but this artist was amazing for his time.
