Treasure City in Royalton is a pretty famous destination for anyone that lives in or near the Royalton area. If you've ever driven through Royalton to head 'up north' to your cabin, you've likely passed right by it. And, chances are, you noticed.

It was first listed in the summer of 2020 and it's shockingly still for sale. I would have thought it would have sold immediately given the fame that's attached to it.

Treasure City is pretty iconic to passersby because it features a giant yard sign that reads 'TREASURE CITY' alongside a larger than life cutout of a pirate. It's also got a pirate ship proximately displayed near the road with several treasures and trinkets scattered around the lawn.

If you've ever traveled to the Brainerd Lakes area, you may have even stopped to load up on some fireworks--it's kind of what the store is known for.

The businesses is currently on the market because the owners are looking to retire. They're asking for $450,000. It's in a great location along Highway 10 and it also comes with a bit of local fame.

So, why is it still for sale? We're not sure.

According to BizBuySell, the cash flow looks pretty good, $115,512. Now, the asking price is just for the building. For an additional $400,000 you'll be able to also buy the inventory inside.

For about $850,000 you could own your own business and a piece of local history. If you're interested in buying the property, it's listed with Scott Hislop with Transworld Business Advisors of Minnesota.

I just hope the new owners will stick with the same décor and charm we've all come to know and love over the years.
