Another sad day in rock. It seems to be happening too often, lately, as our rock stars are aging. The only bright light is that they leave their music behind to enjoy.

Edward Joseph Mahoney, aka Eddie Money, passed away this morning from complication from esophageal cancer at the age of 70.

His family released this statement: “The Money family regrets to announce that Eddie passed away peacefully early this morning,  It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our loving husband and father. We cannot imagine our world without him. We are grateful that he will live on forever through his music.”

Eddie had a parade of hits in the late 70's and the 80s. "Shakin'" from the "No Control" album was one of his big hits in the '80s, but caused a bit of trouble for Eddie because of a certain word in the song.

"Nobody noticed it," Money said in 2018. "And Bill Graham was so, so pissed off at me because he said that could've been a Top 5 single, and 'You and your sophomoric fucking bullshit, now I can't get it on the radio.' But when I talked to people, they go, 'I loved it when you said that! Wow!'"

You'll be missed, Eddie

One of my favorite tunes from Eddie
