It has been 15 years in the making. Could it finally be headed to a publishing house?

Rolling Stone is reporting today that Pete Townshend's memoir has been picked up by Harper Collins UK.

The book has been an ongoing project for Townshend for the last 15 years and has not been without controversy. In 2003, he found himself in trouble with British authorities when he was busted for accessing child pornography. He claimed he was researching his past in order to write his life story which he believed included sexual abuse at the hands of his grandmother.

Townshend is joining Brian Johnson, Steven Tyler, Sammy Hagar and Keith Richards as the latest rock stars to put their lives in print.

Pete Townshend: Who, He? is scheduled for a fall 2012 release.

Meanwhile, Townshend's band mate, Roger Daltrey is bringing his brand of the Tommy tour to the Target Center in Minneapolis October 5. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday, May 20 at 10am.
