An Amateur Golfer From Minnesota is Heading to the Masters [VIDEO]
What would you do if you earned the change to play Augusta, but didn't have the funds to do so?
Farmington, MN native and 3-time Minnesota Golf Association Play of the Year Sammy Schmitz earned the trip by winning the U.S. Mid-Amateur with this ridiculous ace (hole-in-one) on a 290-yard par-4.
NOTE: it's an amateur tournament, so the video is pretty amateur, too.
When Sammy Schmitz looks back on his #USMidAm win, his tee shot on the par-4 33rd will probably be what sticks out. https://t.co/654RfVo3lb

But that's when the dream got expensive.
There are fees and expenses that go along with playing golf for a living. These can usually be offset with sponsorships and/or being stinking rich (*cough* Tiger *cough*). Being an amateur doesn't give you those privileges, however.
Sammy and his wife set up a GoFundMe account to try to raise a little money for the trip. Fans responded by donating over $25,000 in three days!
Good luck, Sammy!
