Andy Samberg and Kristen Wiig were the main reason I allowed 'Saturday Night Live' to take up precious space on my DVR, and now they are both gone from the show. Samberg confirmed the rumor on Friday, but he also managed to give us a little hope, hinting that he may not be entirely done with 'SNL'.

In his statement to the New York Times Samberg mentioned he and his buddies Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer (who make up The Lonely Island) would consider still doing digital shorts for 'Saturday Night Live'. So basically they would still be a part of the show without the demanding schedule of being a regular cast member. Which in turn would free up time for Samberg to do other projects.

Andy recently landed his first big leading role along side Adam Sandler in the upcoming comedy 'That's My Boy' in theaters June 15th.

It's going to be sad to have him gone, but I suppose no one can stay on the show forever. Let's just hope he and Lorne Michaels can come to an agreement so we can see Andy every once and a while.
