Vikings to Play Without Sullivan; Wright Gets Extension
The Vikings will play about half the season without center John Sullivan. Sullivan underwent a lumbar microdiscectomy Wednesday. He can return to practice after 6 weeks and can return to the field week 8.

The Gophers lost 23-17 to #2 TCU Thursday night. Minnesota trailed 10-0 after 1 quarter and 10-3 at halftime. Mitch Leidner threw for 197 yards and 1 touchdown with no interception,
SCSU Football Wins Season Opener 28-10
The St. Cloud State Football team began the 2015 season with a 28-10 win over Concordia-St. Paul at Husky Stadium Thursday night. SCSU led 14-0 after the first quarter and 21-3 at halftime.
Vikings Lose 24-17 to Titans
The Vikings lost their final 2015 preseason game 24-17 Thursday night. The Vikings played only a few 1st team players. Taylor Heinicke played the entire game at quarterback for the Vikings and was 27-41 for 279 yards and 2 touchdowns with no interceptions.
5 St. Cloud Area Teams Play in Class B/C State Amateur Baseball Tournament
The St. Cloud area will be well represented in the State Amateur Baseball Tournament this week. In Class C, the Sartell Muskies will play Sunday at 11am in Cold Spring, Kimball will play Ada at 11am Sunday in Watkins, Watkins will play at 11am Saturday Saturday in Watkins.

St. Cloud State senior and St. Cloud Rox starting pitcher Reese Gregory has been named to the Perfect Game 2015 Summer Collegiate All-America Team as a first team starting pitcher.
T-Wolves Sign Tayshaun Prince to 1-Year Deal
According to NBC Sports the Timberwolves have signed free agent forward Tayshaun Prince to a 1-year contract for the veteran minimum. Prince is a 6-9, 215 pound 35-year old veteran.
Twins Place Hughes on DL; To Recall Duffey
The Twins have placed starting pitcher Phil Hughes on the 15-day disabled list with a back injury and the team has recalled righthanded pitcher Tyler Duffey from Triple-A Rochester.
Twins Should Call Up Berrios
The Twins need a starting pitcher for the weekend series against Cleveland at Target Field. The top pitching prospect in the organization is Jose Berrios and he's been hot at Triple-A Rochester.
SCSU Pitcher Signs With the Dodgers
St. Cloud State junior pitcher Garrett Harrison has signed a free agent professional contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Harrison was pitching in the Northwoods League with the Green Bay Bullfrogs.
Twins Acquire Kevin Jepsen From Rays
The Twins have acquired right-handed relief pitcher Kevin Jepsen from the Tampa Bay Rays for 2 minor league pitchers in a trade deadline deal. The 31-year old Jepsen has a 2-5 record with a 2.81 ERA in 41 2/3 innings with 34 strikeouts.
Six Rox Players Named to Participate in The Northwoods League Dream Showcase
Six players from the St. Cloud Rox were selected to participate in the 2015 Northwoods League Major league Dream Showcase that will be hosted by the Madison Mallards at Warner Park on Tuesday, August 4th.
