Scott county Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in apprehending the POS that shot a dog and left it lying in a ditch.

Around 10 AM Yesterday (Monday) morning, authorities were notified of a dog found in a ditch with several gunshot wounds. The dog was identified as Kirby, a white German Shepherd belonging to Mike Fontaine.

Mike got a call from a neighbor and got in his car and went to where Kirby was found. Upon arriving, they found Kirby with bullet wounds he later died from. "“It feels like somebody stole part of my heart for whatever reason. There’s no reason for it whatsoever, to shoot a poor dog that wasn’t a threat, wasn’t hurting anything...he wasn’t hurting anybody,” Mike Fontaine said.

A neighbor saw a late 2000's gray pick up with a slightly lifted body and knobby tires. Anyone with information regarding this senseless crime is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 952-445-1411 or they can also opt to leave an anonymous tip via Crime Stoppers of Minnesota by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Let's catch this a--hole.
