Hotel Staff Refused To Check On Jani Lane

Housekeeping found Jani Lane lifeless, but hotel staff refused to check and see if he was OK.

According to a 911 call that was posted on TMZ's website, management at the L.A. area hotel where Jani Lane was staying couldn't convince anyone to go in and check on him to see if he was alright. When authorities arrived at the Comfort Inn and entered Lane's room they found vodka and prescription pills near the body. He was dead and had a mysterious note in his pocket that read "I am Jani Lane".

No official cause of death has been released and foul play is not suspected. The initial autopsy results came back inconclusive and toxicology tests are not expected back for weeks. Lane died August 11 at the age of 47. A free tribute concert in his honor will be held August 29 at L.A.'s famed Key Club.
