Look out Minnesota, this will be an epic show, Ian Anderson presents Jethro Tull's 40th Anniversary Tour, August 31st at the intimate venue, The State Theater in Minneapolis.

You are either a Tull fan or you aren't. Jethro Tull hit the big time in 1969 and went on to sell over 60 million albums worldwide, with 11 gold and 5 platinum among them. Rolling Stone magazine called them "one of the most commercially successful and eccentric progressive rock bands".  They actually won the very first Heavy Metal Grammy, which caught many off guard.

I started to appreciate the eccentric style of Jethro Tull in about 1970.  There was no band like them. There albums were meticulously produced and like I said, there was nothing else like them out there.

I was actually at a Tull show long ago where Ian Anderson stopped a song halfway through to ask the audience to "Just shut up and listen". And they did.

This promises to be musical nirvana for Tull fans. Don't miss it, Friday, August 31st at The State Theater. Get you tickets at www.theaterminneapolis.com
