The song was penned by a great singer/songwriter, J.J.Cale who recorded it in 1971 on his debut album.

When you hear the triple-guitar attack by Ed King, Allen Collins and Gary Rossington on the song from Lynyrd Skynyrd you can understand how they brought the song to prominence on the album, ‘Second Helping’ (1974).

Bad news came from the band and shocked rockers everywhere when in 1977 a plane crash that seriously injured Collins and Rossington and killed three band members including Steve Gaines who replaced Ed King the previous year.
