'American Beauty' I would have to say is the most beloved of Grateful Dead studio albums which was released in November of 1970.

This work is jammed with terrific material, everything from the classic recordings of  "Attics Of My Life," "Brokedown Palace" and "Ripple" probably the most inspired Garcia-Hunter collaborative efforts.

Hunter  worked very well with other members of the band too. The tune "Truckin'" shares songwriting credits with Garcia, Hunter, Bob Weir and Phil Lesh.

The album's opening song, "Box Of Rain"  is a Hunter-Phil Lesh composition, while "Sugar Magnolia" is a Hunter-Weir collaboration.

First time this was performed was at the Fillmore West in San Francisco, June of 1970.

If you a Deadhead you'll probably agree  that "Sugar Magnolia" is the band's second-most-frequently-performed song, trailing only behind "Me & My Uncle."
