SAUK RAPIDS - The Sauk Rapids-Rice Varsity Baseball Team devoted their senior night Thursday to raising money for Tanner's Team.

The team wore pink jerseys during "Strike Out Cancer Night at the Ballpark" in their game versus Sartell-St. Stephen, were were being auctioned off at the end of the game with all proceeds going to Tanner's Team.

The Tanner's Team organization was named after Tanner Fuls, a young man who was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome. Tanner passed away in November of 2010.

Tanner's team helps families whose children have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness or serious injury.

Cindy and John Fuls, Tanner's parents were at the event. They say they love that Tanner's friends are carrying on his legacy.

"I think they have really helped us and guided us over the last six years. We have had so much support from all of them."

The stands were filled and the place was standing room only by the time first pitch came around.

John Fuls says the baseball team drew a large crowd because of all their hard work.

"Events like this one are huge, just look at the crowd tonight, The stands are packed for a high school baseball game. What these young men have done over here is just amazing and the whole senior class really kept Tanner's legacy alive."

Tanner's family feels a really close bond with this year's senior class as the is the year Tanner would have graduated.
